Following 11 years of service as President and CEO and four preceding years in marketing, special events, and community impact, United Way of Rutherford and Cannon Counties (UWRCC) bids farewell to Meagan Flippin as she steps into her new role as CEO and President of the Center for Nonprofit Management (CNM).
Since she arrived at UWRCC in 2009, Meagan has been an integral part of growth and expansion in Rutherford and Cannon counties, and the non-profit community. As workplaces have evolved, she has led the shift from the traditional United Way framework to stronger engagement with donors outside of the workplace. Meagan has focused on lasting change, building planned giving opportunities for United Way’s endowment to provide stability and security for future generations. Most recently, she guided the organization through its expansion, adding Bedford and Lincoln counties to its existing service area of Rutherford and Cannon counties. A new name is forthcoming to be more reflective of the new service area.
Meagan shares, “My departure from United Way is truly bittersweet. While I am excited to embark on the next chapter of my career, I am extremely saddened to leave the many outstanding individuals and organizations connected to our mission at United Way. I am so proud of the transformation that we have achieved together over the past 11 years in becoming a catalyst for community change and effective philanthropy. Serving as our local United Way’s President and CEO has been an incredible honor that I will forever cherish, and a responsibility that I have not taken lightly. I am optimistic about the future of our local United Way, and I look forward to witnessing the continued success and growth of this organization.”
With Meagan’s upcoming departure in January 2024, the search begins for the next leader of UWRCC.
